A celebration of Michigan musicians and their original music — where music, friendship, and gratitude flow freely.
Created by and for the love of music and community, we bring the highest-caliber musicianship to Mid-Michigan — a family-friendly weekend of handpicked bluegrass, psychedelic folk, Americana, and soul. A portion of every festival's proceeds is donated to a local charity.
Two days of original Michigan music along the Shiawassee River. A family-friendly weekend of food trucks, craft and music vendors, and the bands you love — this year a portion of proceeds supports the Nature Conservancy and Chesaning CAER center, with the rest poured back into the festival.
Showboat Park sits along the Shiawassee River in beautiful Chesaning. For decades it was home to musicians, dancers, and the community — we're proud to bring art back to life right in our own backyard.
The first Handmade Music Festival was held in October 2018 with nearly two dozen Michigan bands playing all original music, around 300 attendees, food trucks, and craft and music vendors.
